I grew up in the mid-west, raised by a hard working family. I have always liked to create. I have always liked working with both my mind and my hands. Through my youth, I spent a lot of time juggling and performing, surrounded by creative people. As an adult, I changed direction and started working with wood. I now enjoy creating, teaching and experimenting with all aspects of life.
I work primarily with wood, and anything that works well with wood. I also experiment with acrylics, painting, and surface embellishments. I particularly like to mix wood species to create interesting contrasts and flowing designs.

As a youth, I spent a lot of time juggling and throwing juggling clubs around with friends. Many of these people were free spirits and were extremely creative. On top of that, I grew up with a father who taught me how to work through problems with minimal resources, and dogged determination. As an adult, I worked as an engineer, and developed a technical mind. In the middle of all that, I find a balance of artistic inspiration with technical knowhow. I use my skills to make artwork that is aesthetically pleasing and enjoy the process, even when technically complex.
